The Artist

Marla Greenfield became a full time watercolor artist in 1998 after retiring from a fifteen year career in the investment business.  She is drawn to watercolors because of their transparency and luminosity. Painting things she finds beautiful, peaceful and calming, she strives primarily to depict the beauty of light in her art. Marla is a signature member of the American Watercolor Society and a past president and signature member of the New England Watercolor Society, where she has also served as a member of its board. She has exhibited in shows throughout the country, including the American Watercolor Society and the National Watercolor Society annual exhibitions and has won numerous awards, both on a regional and national level. She has been featured in American Artist Watercolor Magazine, with her work chosen for the cover. She teaches watercolor classes and workshops throughout New England. Her work is currently on display at the Artisans Way Gallery in Concord, the NOA Gallery in Groton and at the Florentine Gallery in Weston, Massachusetts. Marla graduated from Tufts University with a degree in Economics and Boston University with an MBA. She has dual residence in Wayland, Massachusetts and the Berkshires.
