This class will explore the wonderful and unique qualities of watercolor, reinforcing techniques that let the paint do what it does best. We will experiment with allowing the paints blend on the paper, underpainting and glazing/layering to achieve luminous results. In addition, we will examine issues such as composition, the importance of value, breaking the process down into manageable steps and generating rich darks. Students are encouraged to bring their own photographic reference. Some watercolor experience is suggested.
